Baby Towel Apron

3 Mar

Baby Towel ApronMy little girl has out grown her Hooded Baby Towels and I’m too cheap to go out and buy bigger ones. Seriously, why can’t she use the same size ones as mom and dad? I’ll tell you why, because juggling a baby and an over sized towel is a handful!

Here’s my simple solution:

Take a towel (I used an old crappy one to just test it out because I wasn’t sure it was going to work right). Measure to find the center (excuse the fat hand!)

Then I measured evenly 3 inches to each side (so your spacing is 6 inches apart) and mark your spot. This is where you’ll sew the twill tape.

I used 1″ wide White Twill Tape. I found it by the thread at JoAnn’s but they also sell it by the spool or by the ward over in the apparel ribbons.

I cut my Twill Tape to 30″. But you should measure it and figure out how long you want your towel to hang off your neck.

I sewed it on my marks… i tried to be fancy and do this square with the “x” look, but I’m still a beginner at the sewing machine (i barely got it a month ago!)

And here you have it! Easy.

My “babies” are all grown but I’m makin’ one of these aprons to dry off my little doggies after their baths! I won’t get so wet wearing one of these either. Great idea!

What a great idea! We are expecting no. 5 this summer, and I have been thinking about these for a while (my ideas have been way too convoluted!!) I might make this today before our small ones have their bath! Thank you!!

I just want to say that you are brilliant! I do this thing were I hold the towel with my chin while trying not to get it wet while I bend over to get my daughter out of the tub! I love it. I will have to go and make a few.

What a great idea! I wish I had seen this when my boys were still tiny. These would make a cute gift too! Glad I stopped by from tt&j! ~Merrilee
