This year for Easter I decided to add to the tablescape that would be at my parent’s house. We have a large-ish family and I wanted to find something that could be fun Easter place settings for everyone joining us.
I love browsing the silhouette store on portfolios of artists/designers I’ve already purchased from before (to see what else they have created). I stumbled upon this beauty from Loni Harris at Cactus and Olive:
Immediately my wheels starting turning. I knew I had to have it, and I knew I needed it at each table setting for Easter tomorrow. My parents’ anniversary is this week, so they went out of town until Sunday evening and left me in charge of the weekly family dinner…. that also happens to be a holiday….. Stressed? NAH! Excited! Finally, a table setting larger than 3 to decorate for!
So I started by cutting them out on textured cardstock. I could fit 6 on a page (thank you 12″ cameo) and Loni had it sized for a standard egg so there was no guess work involved for me (thank you Loni).
There are 3 ways I can think of to do this next part. Take plastic eggs and write each family member’s name on it. Vinyl names on the plastic eggs, is another option. What I settled on, was using vinyl as a stencil when dying the eggs.
At first I tried just a sharpie on the plastic egg idea but it wasn’t cute enough for my liking. Here’s that look:
