Etched Glass Bakeware

15 Nov

Have you ever been to a gathering in which you were in charge of bringing a dish, and took your least favorite glassware because you justย knew the chances of the correct returning home were slim to none? Put your worries aside! Introducing… Etched Glass Bakeware! This process is super easy to do and will ensure you get your glassware back.

What you’ll need:

Stencil or Vinyl Stencil (or just stickers as a stencil!)
Glass Etched Cream

I tested out this solution last night with the hubby ( I love it when he gets into crafting with me!) and it turned out pretty good for using the cheap Etched Glass cream. We used my silhouette to cut our last name and an embellishment out in vinyl, used it as a stencil and using a foam brush painted the etching cream on.

The knock-off brand cream has to cure for 24 hours so we slept on it. The next day after work we peeled everything off very hesitantly but alas! It worked! We’re so please with the results:

You don’t even have to put your name on it. Find a cute stencil of a flower or flourish and it mark it still as your own!

I didn’t know there was a “cheap knock off cream” – do tell, what and where do you find it?

@ceodraiocht- Thanks for asking! It is by PLAID and I purchased it at Hobby Lobby for $2.74. It comes in a smaller tube that the normal etched glass containers which is what originally drew me to it because I was not sure how often I’d be using it. Here is the url of the product i purchased:

This is adorable! i love the idea of personalized glassware, however, in my house it wouldn’t last 1 year. Thanks for sharing with the Pink Hippo Party!

My sister made a dish for us when we were first married with the etched glass cream, and I love that thing! I’m glad I have my own vinyl cutter so I can do the same thing on other pieces ๐Ÿ™‚ Now our things will never get lost at church buffets!
