Giraffe Room Decor

10 Feb

Crafting is so much more fun when it is an “upcycle” or repurposed item. At work, a classroom clock had broken so with permission I brought it home. I knew exactly what I wanted to use it for. Only the motor was broke really. The hands were bent quite bad but I can fix that. After using the hands for our Wall Clock, I used the frame for my girl’s room decor. Here is how I did it…

This clock…..

Took fuzzy 12×12 scrapbook paper (Hobby Lobby, 6 for $1) and cut it to fit:

Glue it down… took small wooden letters (Hobby Lobby $1 for a pack of 2) and covered with Nylon Loops (Hobby Lobby $3.99 a bag). I just kept taking loop by loop and wrapping the letter, then hot glued each loops end down to the back side. I also found this wooden giraffe for 99 cents at Hobby Lobby.

and returned the “clocks” plastic cover casing.

Ta-da! I am in LOVE with it. I think it is so cute and is going to look adorable in Jolene’s room that we are redoing with Giraffe theme.
