How To Make Ice Eggs

25 Jan

Don’t you just love when you stumble across something that is SO easy to do, you’re not sure why you didn’t think of that? It happens to me a lot. Sometimes I think too hard about what I could be doing with my daughter to keep her engaged in activity. Sometimes, the answer is so simple! Like these Ice Eggs from A Little Learning For Two.

Fill a balloon with water and small toys or rocks. Freeze. Cut balloon off ice egg and let toddler hack at it with a spoon!

We did something similar for a “Pirate Party”. We put treasure (coins) inside black water-filled balloons and froze them. The party-goers cut off the outside and melted the “canon balls” in a kiddie pool. (They liked it!)
