Popcorn Ball Treats

Are you ready for the best popcorn ball recipe to have ever existed? Well, you are about to get it! What’s more, I’m going to show you how to make it into a cute gift for neighbors or teachers.
Apple Popcorn Balls (perfect for teachers!) and Pumpkin Popcorn Balls

Here we go!

What you’ll need:
3/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup margarine or butter
2 teaspoons water
2 5/8 cups powdered sugar
1 cup mini marshmallows

 3 quarts popcorn, popped
 Food Coloring
Pretzel Rods
Large preztels

In a large saucepan, over medium heat, combine light corn syrup, margarine, water, powdered sugar, and mini marshmallows. Stir continuously until brought to a boil.

Add your food coloring.

Carefully pour it over your popcorn.

I popped 3 bags and just divided them into two bowls, one for my apples one for my pumpkins. Which means I doubled the recipe above.
Wait for the mixture to cool a bit- it is really hot! Grease up your hands. Vegetable oil, canola oil, shortening, whatever you choose. Dig in and form a ball. I did baseball size for apples and softball sizes for pumpkins. This recipe makes 6 apples and 4 pumpkins.

 After I formed the ball, I stuck a pretzel rod in the top for the stems. I had to hold my palms around to keep the shape and use my thumb to push the rod down.

I set it on wax paper. Using frosting and food coloring (by the way, I just mixed powdered sugar, water and coloring for frosting but you can just buy the stuff if you want), I coated the pretzels. Using the wet pretzel as glue, I placed them as a leaf.

I wrapped mine in a bread bag to giveaway.
