Pregnancy “Sucks” Card

27 Jan

A friend of mine is pregnant with her 2nd child. She said this pregnancy is way worse than her first as far as morning sickness goes. For her it’s morning, noon and night sickness! I decided to put together a little something for her to make her smile.

I found these “mommy pops” at Babies ‘R Us. They are suckers made of ginger and are supposed to help with nausea. It made sense to me because when I was pregnant and sick, dum-dums and ginger ale were the only things I could stomach for a while… why not put them as one?!

I made a card to go with it and I thought I’d share:

Seriously, lots of women might not get this, but I DO! I was SO, SO sick with both boys–on meds, several trips to the ER, almost admitted to stay in the hospital sick. These pregnancy pops you mention were seriously the way I got through church without throwing up. I might have looked odd eating a lollipop in church, but I knew God understood. : ) Ginger and peppermint were the best! I love the cute card–what a great idea. When ladies are so sick and pregnant, it is nice to have a sympathetic friend!

Ha! That’s great! While I was blessed with an enjoyable pregnancy, many of my friends were not. Ginger was really helpful!

    Fun idea!!!

I absolutely love this idea! Great job! I second what Chiara said. I too was sick sick sick puking every day even on the delivery table. Funny how when that sweet little angel came out all the yuckies went away. I made it through because of great friends. I am sure your friend really appreciates this gift!

Popping over from Lil’ Luna. That is genius (and really nice of you). I’m on my second pregnancy (8 years after my first!) and it is waaaaay worse this time around. I never had morning sickness with Indy, but with this one, it was constant the entire first trimester. Ugh. Ginger snaps and ginger ale were my only friends.
