Replanting Basil- The Natural Fly Deterrent

1 May

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Last year, we were a little late planting our Basil so it was a bit short lived. If you remember, we decided to try and deter flies naturally buy planting Basil around our deck where we hang out the most. Remember our DIY Planter?

We live within a city limit that has outskirts of dairy farms, so flies are no stranger here. They are large, they are mean, and they are annoying! Rather than plastering our deck and yard with harsh chemically smelling deterrents, we tried herbal. Not only was the method cheap and easy- it worked! It is that time of year again to start replanting. Just as with last year using Miracle-Gro, we'll be replanting both our planters and around our trees with Moisture Control Potting Mix.

We've yet to begin our above ground garden in the backyard, but we hope our small planters for basil is enough to inspire you to begin on your fun garden projects. This year, Miracle Gro has launched The Gro Project to help inspire your neighborhood to go from "green" to "green thumb".

Need some inspiration? Join the Pinterest sensation and follow Miracle-Gro where gardners coem together to share stories and idaes. If you're still "green" but not yet the master gardener, join me in starting small. This week I'll be working on my Basil planters- what will you be working on?
