Very Pinteresting… Tips & Tricks

30 Jun

My pinterest board titled “Tips & Tricks” has been BOOMING lately. I just keep stumbling upon fantastic ideas that will save me time and money, or are otherwise just plain clever! I couldn’t hold it in any longer- it is time for a “post vomit”, or in other words, over load of ideas in one post!

This first one really is just for kicks and giggles. I’ve never seen a shirt folded OR put away like this before. I’m not going to lie, it makes me want to own a dresser just so I can do this. How to fold a shirt to fit in a dresser

Emergency Contact stickers for car seats. You know what, this is actually a really good idea. I  knew someone who was in a car accident with her child. The mom was thrown from the vehicle and laid unconscious and unseen as first responders found the infant but had no way of contacting family as the baby was transported to a nearby hospital with non life threatening injuries. The mom was found in the brush along the highway almost AN HOUR after the accident. Could you imagine your baby at the hospital for an hour before staff new her name or family information? SO scary and sad. (By the way, the woman and baby were okay.)

Upholster box spring. I hate bed skirts. I hate putting them on. I hate taking them off. I hate readjusting them if I have to crawl under the bed for something. I hate bed skirts. Also, I hate bed skirts when the bed frame is a pretty wood that makes the skirt hang weird down the side. This solution is far better, in my opinion.

Rid dry feet. Ew. I know, right? I’m not going to lie though, I have REALLY bad dry feet. I wear flip flops every day… sometimes even just barefoot. I’m going to be trying this. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Secure rugs from sliding with caulk bottoms.  I don’t have any rugs that would need this, but when we actually finish decorating and upgrading our home I might need this trick.

Put cupcake liners in a spaghetti jar. My 2 year old loves making cupcakes and muffins. We always have mix on hand. This little insider tip will sure make my cupboard less messy with all the liners laying around.

How to transfer ink designs onto wood using wax paper. This idea is just too cool. Makes me wish we owned a printer.

Top tips for a successful yard sale. Summer just screams “yard sale!”. I can’t even count how many signs I’ve seen up every weekend this month.
