You’ve seen in the past the Picket Fence Planter we made for our walk up entry way. It has been about six months since we made it, and it is looking rather filthy lately. Not to mention, it was time to dress things up for the upcoming holiday- a Halloween Welcome Banner!
Really, I should have known that the t-shirt banner I made would not last long. Our Gnome is sun-faded, our cute wooden butterflies and dragonflies are missing, and the plant from behind is overgrown! Time for a makeover! Time for a little face lift for my picket fence planter.
Using sketch pens, I created a leaf on the two end pendants of the banner:
Using adhesive cardstock, I cut out the letters for the “welcome” pendants. It was so much easier doing it this way than the stencil way I choose on the old banner. I really like the adhesive cardstock! To finish off a look, I put the Gnome away for now and added miniature Halloween picket fences.
When I first made the picket fence, the idea was the change out the little pieces to match upcoming holidays. I missed a few holidays over the summer, but I’m sure glad I was able to get this done for the month of October!
